About Me

Going through a divorce is one of the most overwhelming experiences a person can face - legally, emotionally, and logistically. I built True North Divorce Coaching, LLC because I have spent my career on the inside of the family court system, and I know firsthand how confusing, isolating, and stressful the process can be, without the right support. As a Certified Divorce Coach (CDC) and Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, I combine real courtroom-system knowledge with genuine compassion to help clients move through divorce with clarity and confidence.

A Career Rooted in the Family Court System

My path to divorce coaching wasn’t theoretical - it was built inside the family court system itself. Since September 2023, I served as a Family Law Case Manager for Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit, where I worked directly with self-represented parties filing dissolution of marriage, paternity, and custody cases. In this role, I guided filers through court processes and procedures, Florida Supreme Court forms, and statutory requirements; and managed cases through every stage of the court system and coordinating closely with our judges, magistrates, attorneys, and mediation staff.

Before moving to Florida, I spent seven years with the Oregon Judicial Department, rising from a Judicial Services Specialist to a Judicial Assistant. I was responsible for opening civil, family, and protective order cases. I reviewed filings for legal compliance, scheduled hearings, and worked directly with judges and attorneys to keep cases moving fairly and efficiently. I spent many hours in the courtroom which gave me the opportunity to see firsthand how cases are actually decided.

A Foundation in Psychology and Human Behavior

Divorce isn’t just a legal process - it’s a deeply personal and emotional one, which I bring to my work. I hold a Master’s of Science in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University, along with a Bachlelor’s of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Southern Oregon University. My background in Psychology and Education informs how I approach coaching; helping clients understand their own emotional responses, communicate more effectively with a co-parent or former spouse, and make informed decisions during one of the most stressful periods of their lives.

Certified to Guide You Through Every Step

Together, these credentials mean that I can support clients not just emotionally, but strategically - helping clients understand their options, effectively and efficiently preparing for mediation or court, and moving forward with a plan rather than just panicking about irrelevant matters.
